My 2nd Dark Iron Fitness product. Quality Gear!

This is my second Dark Iron Fitness product. I also own their lifting belt. I've been using that product for about 6 months on a regular basis and it's still in great shape, like new, but broken in a bit. When they came out with this dip belt I knew I wanted it. The ones at my gym are the kind with the chain that you hook back through itself, meaning that it's kind of a pain to drop the weights between sets. Since this dip belt has separate connections for holding it on your waist and for…

Durable and Comfortable

After almost two years of use I noticed this belt looked like it could be sold "as-new" and thought that merited a review (bought Aug/2017 and reviewed June/2019).The main concerns I had when purchased were that the weight strap would wear down or the padding in the belt itself would wear or compress over time. Both have proven unfounded, the belt has thick padding that remains very comfortable on bone more than 400 times after it's been strapped on. I expect a belt this wide would be…

Pros
  • Made from high-quality, durable leather
Cons
  • Takes time to put on and adjust before use

Heavy duty dip belt

This belt is heavy duty. Built tough. Double and triple stitched in high stress areas. I like the cloth strap versus the chain on other belts, but the rubber sewn into it makes centering the weights a little annoying. Once you're all aligned though, the belt is well padded, making it pretty comfortable. Overall, it's a nice belt, built with quality material and design. Looks great too.

Pros
  • Fits men and women comfortably
Cons
  • Strap material may stretch and become less supportive over time

It broke - company replaced it

Claims to hold 270 lbs. broke while using 180 lb. Very dangerous. Someone could get hurt.edit:Company reached out to me. Replaced item at no cost. Have used with no further problems. Possibly random defect. Would suggest, but be careful when using.

Pros
  • WEIGHT BELTS FOR LIFTING: Men and women can both enhance their workouts with this squat belt. Beyond its use for dips and squats, the gym belt can be used for weighted pull ups, chin ups, or weight donkey calf raises.
Cons
  • May not be a good choice for gym-goers who want to avoid drawing attention

Very Comfortable and Well Made

I got a good deal on this a few weeks back so my expectations were not too high. I am very impressed how comfortable it feels when in use and the quality seems very good. I really like that there is no chain that would pinch or bind when using heavier weights. Though the hanging strap is note easily adjustable you can still double it up to make it shorter in most instances. I am pleased so far and hope it lasts so I don't have to purchase a Spud belt right away.

Pros
  • Weights & Accessories
Cons
  • May not be adjustable enough for some users

Works well, great for people with pinched discs

I like the comfort of the belt. I’m a big guy in the waist and it’s a bit close to being to small. If your a 44+ this might not fit you. But it just barley fits me and I’m slowly losing weight so it will be fine. The weight attaches via the nylon rope and that attaches to some carabiners. Straightforward. I like it overall. I don’t have much experience with other belts so I don’t have anything to compare it too. I will say this. I have serious back issues. Sciatica. L5-S1 and this belt has…

Almost unnecessarily well-made

I'm a big fan of Dark Iron's products, and I've been really excited about this dip belt's release for a long time. First thoughts on unpacking is that it feels extremely well crafted. I was a bit cautious about it to be honest, since most of the belts I've used int he past have been a bit of chain attached to a bit of leather. While that design does have the charm of a more "classic" weightlifting feel, this is by far the more comfortable and superior product. I felt no pressure points…

Pros
  • Very nice, comfy, supportive and great value for the price. Highly recommend.
Cons
  • Bulky design makes it difficult to store and transport

dont think just buy

Guess whatI purchased my weight belt in 2017 and I've gotten 2 replacements due to their lifetime warrantyThe company stands behind their warranty. that's a firstI get so many people asking me what dip belt I have because they had the chain oneThis has lasted so longFirst issue was the moving buckle piece fell off due to wear so they replaced that oneSecond one just broke today as the metal piece holding the weighted part broke. Not sure how. seems like a defect since i had zero issues with the

Is it worth your money? Definitely! 100%

Yes it is! This dip belt is everything! I love love love it! I used it today for the first time and it's the holy grail! I used it for elevated squats and deadlifting (removing the weight strap). this belt supported my back and I feel like it helped with my posture too! I love how the back side is soft but at the same time has a lot of cushion to support your back. I also like the metal hooks that holds the weight strap. This belt is very well made! I must say for $20 I was kind of iffy to buy…

Pros
  • SUPPORT: The long 40" strap holds up to 270 pounds. This heavy duty weightlifting belt allows you to quickly and easily load up to 6 olympic weight plates for extreme reps by leveraging quick release carabiners and d-rings.
Cons
  • May not be durable enough for frequent use

Extra comfortable and built to last!

This is an awesome addition to my workout. By adding a couple of 45# plates, I am far more stable doing crossover, pulldown, and lat work! Those same places then augment my dip workout making this a versatile and easily managed addition to many of my workout exercises. Highly recommended for use beyond just dips!

Pros
  • SECURE: With a heavy duty metal buckle and adjustment strap, our weight lifting belt fits all waist sizes for the perfect fit while ensuring that it never falls off while being worn.
Cons
  • Can be expensive compared to other dip belts on the market

High quality, heavy duty, weight belt

I am really impressed with the quality of this belt. It’s made of thick leather and has a padded inner liner for comfort. The thick strap to secure the belt on your waste is very high quality and the same goes for the strap to hold the weights. It’s really engineered for some serious weight. The waste strap is easily adjusted to fit perfectly no matter what your waste size is. There is a rubberized feel to the waste strap and weight strap that secures the strap tightly to your waste and also…

  • May not provide enough resistance for advanced lifters

Great product best in my review

I am using this mostly for weighted pull ups. Things I love:1. Padding is great. No abrasions.2. Long loading strap. You can have your weights and then get the strap through the weight and attached. You have enough slack to move around just a little which is good. I can chalk up or whatever and then get the weight in position for the exercise when I am ready.3. The heavy duty metal buckle and adjustment strap are awesome. I put this thing on and it stays put. I can rest standing or sitting and…

Straps are the issue

I saw buried in these reviews, a note from someone saying that the waist strap would need lengthening for folks with a waist measurement over 32", and thought that was insane, considering that the manufacturer states "One size fits all. This belt is fully adjustable to fit any waist size or height." This, to be blunt, is a crock. I have a 38" waist, and it takes quite a bit of effort to get the waist belt to go around the clasp - I have about 2" excess to toy with, and this is not reassuring…

Pros
  • Why did it take me so long to find this thing?! Way more comfortable than traditional dip belts!
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with shoulder or back injuries

Does not fit all sizes

Not sure if the belt I got was just short, but the belt doesn't go around anywhere around my waist. I'm 6'3, 280 lbs and 42 waist. I can't get this around me anywhere from my hips to my chest. Sad.

Pros
  • This comes with a lifetime warranty. Enough said!
Cons
  • May not fit individuals with larger waist sizes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Heavy duty, versatile, and comfortable

Very comfortable and durable. The belt can be adjusted to give the perfect fit which prevents the belt from sliding down or shifting throughout movement.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • Padding may cause discomfort during certain movements

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Awesome dip belt but understand- its made for a 2 inch plate.

I have 1 inch plates and the strap is too thick to fit through the hole. I went to the store and bought some chain instead for 11$. No biggie.

Pros
  • 40-inch strap allows for versatile use
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals who prefer lighter weightlifting

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great on my review.

It's padding is great, and the construction where the chain attaches seems well constructed. I use it for dips and pullups, adding 40-50+lb.

Pros
  • Product is made good.
Cons
  • Padding may not provide enough support for heavy lifting

Good quality - my new review

This is my second dark iron belt. Great quality. Lifting belt will outlast me. This one seems similarly built. I didn’t actually buy this for dips. I use it to pull my torque m1 sled. It’s way cheaper than the one they try to sell and works well. Thanks for a great product.

Pros
  • Comfortable fit helps encourage longer workouts
Cons
  • May be difficult to adjust mid-workout

Way better than expected!

This belt ended up being way better than I expected for the price. The leather is high quality, the stitching is solid, and the carabiners are heavy duty. I like that the strap that holds the weight isn't a chain. It doesn't scratch up my weights. It also has some sort of rubbery material in it to keep weights from sliding around on the strap. Genius! And a very nice touch. There is a thick layer of padding covered in soft black suede material on the inside of the belt, which was also a…

Pros
  • Provides excellent value for the quality of product
Cons
  • Buckle may loosen over time

Initially gravitated towards this belt as I was tired of chains and wanted to try the nylon support it had. Part of it was the design which is pretty cool, I'm normally not a design guy and prefer my gym gear to just be solid black, but the design on this was understated while being really cool looking. Was impressed at the quality, stitching looked very clean and sturdy and the belt itself is padded on the inside. The mechanism to hold the belt on is something new for me and I really…

Pros
  • Enhances overall workout experience
Cons
  • May not provide enough support for individuals with existing back or spine problems
