Not as durable as I'd hoped.but still good.

My pit bull/mastiff mix chews through every toy I put in front of him. Any rubber Kong is destroyed within an hour. Plush toys only take a couple minutes. He took his time with this toy and was able to finally crack it after about 2 or 3 days. From there, it still took him another week or more to get at all the squeakers.but he eventually did. Not sure if it's worth the $20 or $30. I'd gladly buy this toy again for $15 at most. Your mileage (income) may vary.

Excellent "tough " toy

We have a 100 lb dog. He loves to play tug of war, however has destroyed almost every toy we have brought home. This one has lasted. It is also nice because being soft it is easy for us to hang onto without losing grip or getting sore (or slime covered) hands. Love it!Update: I just had to re-recommend this item. We still have this toy and it is still intact. This is the only toy that our dog has not destroyed - in fact it isn't even frayed a little bit. He still loves it. This is without a…

Pros
  • Intended for interactive play and NOT for chewing
Cons
  • Junior Tiger size may be too small for larger dogs

We have a large pitbull who loves nothing better than to shred a soft toy. These Tuffy toys are the best, although most will succumb to his chewing within weeks. This large, sturdy ring has lasted much longer than the smaller ones. He was less thrilled with it because of the size and awkwardness of it, not to mention that he could not quickly destroy it. Less satisfaction. But it is still with us almost a year later - with just a small tear started on it. He does not have unlimited access to…

Great for strong chewers

I purchased this as a Christmas present for my sister's 2 dogs, however, my dog has the exact same toy and loves it. There are squeakers placed strategically around the whole ring and the material is very durable. The squeakers didn't last that long unfortunately, there might only be 1 working squeaker left, but the toy is still functional and currently has no holes. We have had this toy for about 7 months now, and it is just now starting to get some frayed edges around the inner ring. While…

Definetly go mega, unless the size is a problem

Our rottweiler mix had the 'ultimate' version of this toy, and loved it. Unlike so many other toys that have a limited lifespan, the ultimate ring lasted long enough to become his favorite toy. Unfortunately 9 months of daily tug-of-war, Frisbee, squeaking, and chewing took their toll and eventually it popped a stitch. Rather than let him eat the squeakers or stuffing, we had no choice but to throw it out. After a couple of heartbreaking days of watching him dig through the toy box looking for…

Lasted almost a year with two Goldens playing tug

We got this ring as a Christmas present for our two golden retrievers. The older one was 10.5 at the time, and the younger one was two. They like to play and roughhouse. They love this toy! They will play tug with it, while you hold it (they gang up on you), but they also like to play with it together without a person. My older dog likes to tear apart soft toys, and he's never had a plush toy that has lasted more than a few weeks. This toy lasted almost a year until they finally got through the

Pros
  • I bought two of these for my dogs for Christmas and there still in
Cons
  • May not be suitable for aggressive chewers

Takes a licking keeps on squeeking

Our dog is a 1 year old Vizsla. With plush-type toys she is known to go from new to shredded in about a day. We had another VIP Products toy that was rated 6 on the toughness scale & that took a week for her to break a single seam, so we were impressed by the brand. The Mega-Tuffy she's had for a few weeks now & not so much as a scratch on it.If you have a rough chewer, this is the toy for you! As an added bonus, if they are small enough, the ring just fits over their head & makes for a bit of…

This toy holds up. best in my review

This toy holds up! My little aggressive chewer has destroyed almost every squeaky toy since I rescued her. Even other Tuffy brand toys. But this one is still going strong!

Pros
  • Helps prevent destructive behaviors by giving your dog an appropriate outlet for their energy
Cons
  • May become too dirty to use in the home

Toughest as far as stuffed toys go

People are looking for an indestructible stuffed animal/toy for dogs but they don't exist.I thought it would be indestructible but unfortunately my American bulldog/pit tore it up in a few hours. Started on the edges and worked his way in. However, i will say that it feels really strong and durable as far as stuffed toys go. And would last less aggressive chewers longer. . Having said all that, he did continue to shred and chew on the remains of the ring for a good 3 weeks after destroying…

Pros
  • Made with high-quality materials that are safe for your dog to play with
Cons
  • Could rip if used for unsupervised play

Hold up better than most

Our puppy can destroy a toy in about 30 seconds (stuffing everywhere, ropes chewed through) and so far this one has held up pretty well. Although I don't leave it for him to chew its been a great tug toy. I wouldn't expect it to hold up to a really heavy chewer. Our puppy did ruin one of the tuff-9 toys pretty quickly but this one seems considerably tougher.

Pros
  • Made from incredibly tough materials to ensure a long lifespan
Cons
  • May stain or discolor over time

Disappointing! on my review.

I ordered this ring for our 4 year old Australian cattle-dog/German point mix. He has a history of tearing up any sort of soft or plush toy so we stick with hard rubber toys such as Kongs. My sister has a 200 pound Newfoundland and swears by the Tuffy brand of dog toys for her dog. I ordered this ring for our pup after my sister's rave reviews figuring if the Newf can't tear up then our boy will be fine. WRONG. So wrong. Our dog had the ring for not even five minutes when we heard a ripping…

Pros
  • Built to withstand even the most aggressive chewers
Cons
  • May not be suitable for dogs who prefer smaller toys

My dogs favorite toy

My 24 pound mini golden doodle will play for hours with us throwing this for him, whereas he wants nothing to do with the other colors of the same toy. Go figure! Eventually, he will chew through the outside binding or his little fangs will finally get through the fabric which these are made of after many, many hours of play and then it's all over. We need to order these by the dozen!

Pros
  • Toys
Cons
  • Could become a choking hazard if the dog chews off pieces

The best of an imperfect world

I have two dogs: one 98-lbs and one 17-lbs. Nothing I bought them survived the day, as they would meticulously rip to shreds any toy, Kong, ball, or other device, designed to provide "endless hours of play", but invariably lasting mere minutes at the paws of these demonic reincarnations of tailor's apprentices, adept at unstitching even the closest stitch. The Tuffy's Rings seem to do the best, and last weeks before they are pulverized. For that fact alone, they win my admiration. Yes, I

Pros
  • Floats high in water so your dog can easily see and retrieve it
Cons
  • Could pose a danger if the dog becomes too aggressive toward it

The only plush toys for my dog

My dog loves plush toys, the only problem is, he destroys them in a day, hours or even sometimes minutes. Due to this, I had only been purchasing tennis balls and rubber toys. I saw a Tuffy Mini ring and walmart and after giving it a try it lasted really well. After 2 weeks it is still intact, but fairly beaten, Knowing they make even tougher toys I ordered a mega and two ultimate toys. These toys truly are resilient, my dog loves them, and I can rest easy knowing he has plush like toys he wont

Pros
  • Priced affordably so you can get multiple ones for your pup
Cons
  • Could cause jealousy in multi-dog households

Great toy for the tough chewer

This toy is great. I own both the Mega ring (purchased on revain for $20) and the mega gear (purchased at my local pet store for $40). I prefer the ring, because it doesn't have as many areas for the dog to gnaw on easily (I'm sure my 60 lb sharpei/Husky mix prefers the gear).Pros:Very well made. Can stand up to tugging and chewing.Lasted infinitely longer than a normal toy for my heavy chewer.PriceCons:NoneLets face it. No soft toy is going to stand up to a heavy chewer, if you let the dog sit…

Pros
  • Durable enough to stand up to even the most enthusiastic chewers
Cons
  • Could attract unwanted attention from other dogs in the park

Great dog toy for my opinion

My German Shepherd Dog loves this toy! I do have to watch him with it as he has torn up other Tuffy dog toys to shreds. Now that he's a bit older at 21 months, I can monitor his aggressive chewing a bit better. He loves this toy and will wear it on his face, as other reviewers has also stated that their pups do! He's so cute when he does it and he knows I get a kick out of it! It's one of the first toys he grabs when he wants attention. He even squeaks it while it's on his face. This is his…

Pros
  • Enhances your dog's physical and mental well-being
Cons
  • May not bounce as well as advertised

We have 2 high energy border collies and they are indeed very big chewers. And the tuffy mega ring tinger has been working brilliantly and they still play with it. We play fetch together. We got it sometime last year btw. PEOPLE, read the instruction. You supposed to play it with your dog or at least watch him/ her while playing. You don't leave your dog with the toy just for chewing. If you want something for your dog to chew, then get a bone. And spend more time on playing with your dog.

Pros
  • Provides hours of entertainment for dogs of all ages and breeds
Cons
  • May require more time to clean than other dog toys

Good Product, But Will Not Hold Up To Chewing

The Tuffy Mega Ring Doy Toy is great for playing tug and/or fetch. However, if your dog wants to chew on his/her toys, this will not withstand chewing. Our dog had parts of the black outer trim piece chewed off in a couple of hours. Since it is good for cleaning his teeth, we decided to let him chew on the toy and replace it when he has it destroyed. Then we will look for another product.

Pros
  • Comes in a junior tiger size that's perfect for smaller dogs
Cons
  • Could become damaged if left outside in extreme weather

Awesome Doggy Toy on my review.

Our dog loves these TUFFY rings. They last longer that most toys. But, alas, she always manages to rip them open and remove the stuffing and squeakers. I still give it 5 stars because there is no other toy that is nearly as durable that our dog enjoys.

Pros
  • Floats in water, making it ideal for use at the beach or pool
Cons
  • Not recommended for dogs with sensitive teeth or gums

Tuffy dog toy review

I bought a level 10 on the tuff scale dog toy for my brothers dog. His toy is very destructive and in a matter of an hour he frayed the outside of the toy, but other than that the toy is still in great condition. The dog hasn't put any holes in the toy so I believe the toy is worth the money. With regular dog toys he has a hole in the toy in a few minutes after getting it and pulling stuffing out. So this toy is holding up really good compared to normal dog toys.

Pros
  • Helps improve your dog's coordination and reflexes
Cons
  • Could break if accidentally stepped on
