Review on Enhanced Sangean PR-D14 AM / FM-RDS Portable Radio featuring USB MP3 / WMA Playback by Agata Asztemborska ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I thought it would be better, but overall not bad.

Sangean PR-D14 was bought for standalone operation (without an outlet) as an alarm clock with MP3. With this function, he has no problems, although the price is high for this. As a receiver, it can only be used in close proximity to the transmitting station due to its low sensitivity. Some pros: Well made receiver case. Possibility of battery operation. Excellent two alarm clocks. Works with MP3. With its cons. Terrible receiver sensitivity. Confidently received the signal of only two stations 30 kilometers from the transmission site. I compared him with two other Chinese, in terms of sensitivity he cannot even come close to them. They receive a dozen and a half stations where the Sangean PR-D14 was able to receive two. Ten times smaller in size, the DEGEN1126 confidently picks up the stations that the Sangean PR-D14 plays with a wheeze. With Tecsun PL-660, the comparison is even worse for Sangean PR-D14. At the same time, the price of DEGEN1126 is one and a half times less, Tecsun PL-660 costs about the same. There is no possibility to adjust the tone.
