Review on Mini Split Bracket For Wall Mounting 7000-15000 BTU Ductless Air Conditioner by John Rivera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Doesn't give the warranty-required 12 " of wall clearance.

Bottom line is that if you wish to have the warranty honored on your Senville mini split, you can't use this bracket. The installation paperwork shows 12" clearance necessary between the wall and the back of the unit, and this bracket provides only 4". If the warranty isn't one of your trigger issues, then I'm quite sure 4" will provide enough gap for adequate airflow. The other negative is that the packaging isn't adequate. This is a heavy metal bracket, and it's shipped in a thin rectangular cardboard box with minimal reinforcement. During shipment, the ends of the box broke open and one nyloc nut and one washer went bye-bye. Now I'm sure the company would send you replacements and apologies for the inconvenience, but let's be honest - most of us DIY'ers will simply deal with the problem ourselves before waiting another week for a couple of simple hardware bits. This could have been prevented by stronger packaging. If I had a third complaint, the weight of the outdoor unit makes it lean forward slightly, and I'm pretty sure they should be dead level. Shims would probably solve this problem. This was a 9000 BTU unit, by the way - the smallest Senville available at writing. Were I to do it all over again, I'd order the $50 bracket mount directly from Senville. They're an order of magnitude beefier than this one, and won't negate your warranty.

Pros
  • Works great easy to put together and install
Cons
  • Requires proper ventilation around the air conditioner
