The basics: The sock compresses. The padding is not excessive in the sole. The padding in the sole (as advertised) does not cause discomfort (sweat and/or slippage) when worn and is actually not very noticeable. The sock does appear to vent well.I wear these for work (on my feet all day and constantly moving and crawling) and so far they have performed well. I do fear they may be a bit warm in summer months, but we shall see when summer comes.As far as compression go
