Plano 823 003 Contractor 22 Inch Graphite Review

I bought this tool box to replace my old tool box that I dropped and broke. I had no idea how HUGE this set of tools is. It's so big I'm not sure I can hold it. But it's a very good set of tools, so I decided to give it a positive rating. I would have kept it if it wasn't so huge. Seriously, if I were to fill it up with tools, I doubt I could lift it. I can't figure out how to add a photo to this review, but if I could I would share this photo next to the tool box it was meant to replace.

Very large tool box, so better leave room for it in the car (it takes up some space). Storage is unrealistic. Stay organized with (2) removable compartments plus large bottom compartment and (2) slide-in clear accessory compartments that snap on top to carry screws, nuts, bolts, nails, washers (etc.) in prominent space. The box is very strong, water resistant, with strong latches on both sides (all compartments need to be inserted to lock) and also has a strong handle. This is a serious box.

This is a large well designed tool storage box. It is designed to store almost any hand tool you have. Once you fill it, the box becomes too heavy to carry around. I would call it a tool storage bin, not a tool box (which implies portability). Some time ago I gave up the garage and basement and moved into a 2-room apartment in the city. This should work well for my small to medium tool collection that I've built up over the years. It offers plenty of storage space and should be sturdy enough for home use. I like many subjects. I don't intend to stand on it, sit on it, or hit it much. I don't plan on storing any of my power tools in there either, although it will fit one or two of the smaller, lighter tools. I've used a lot of "big brand" toolkits in the past and none of them have ever done what I wanted. I want something well organized that I can store all my tools in a small space, but sturdy and durable. I've always wanted this tool box. This set of tools is amazing. Closing the latch broke the latch. Luckily I didn't lift it with a load in it. I only spent 30-40 minutes loading and organizing the device. Well it's not really the manufacturer's fault I couldn't imagine how big this case would really be just from the photos and measurements provided on the website. But this thing is BIG. It comfortably fits EVERYTHING, all the tools that can be in the house of an ordinary person. Sounds great right? That's why I bought it. I have carefully researched tool boxes in this price range. It was hard to find exactly what I was looking for, but I decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did. I was advised that the latches that attach it to the sides are not metal. It turns out that this is not a problem. These fasteners are very well made and hold the tool box very well.
