Description of Mountain bike (MTB) Author Stylo 16 (2020) blue/green 9" (requires final assembly)

Among similar bikes designed for heights from 90 centimeters (3 years old), the 2020 Author Stylo model has perhaps the best performance and has long been one of the most popular among children from three years old. The frame of the bike is made of aluminum alloy and from 2020 the model has a curved top tube, lightweight 16” wheels, so the weight is only 7.5 kilograms, which is very important for beginners. An additional hand brake on the front wheel and removable side wheels that are included with the bike will help you overcome the learning period with pleasure. If this stage is easily passed, and your baby is already confidently moving on two wheels, then the absence of additional gears and a special casing that protects the chain from getting clothes will help the young athlete not get into a difficult situation and get only positive emotions from independent driving. And the large metal wings included in the kit, which protect against dirt in any weather, will allow caring mothers to devote more time to rest. Not a bad buy, well worth the money.

The positive reviews are unambiguously screwed up. Found a replacement. The store has a separate respect - they took it back, with a partial refund, tk. was used. I was surprised to learn that bicycles without defects cannot be returned by law.

Pros
  • Regular bike. Rides, well assembled, strong. The child in the first race more or less caught the balance. Not pluses, but the usual expectations from an ordinary bike, but at least something: - Assembled firmly, does not rattle. Bolts and nuts are strong. - there are fender liner (splash protection). - the circuit is protected. Although, so that it would not rub and rattle terribly, I had to pull it hard - the sag falls just on the bottom bolt in the center of the lid, the technical design was clearly not thought out. - the wheels can be made half-flat - at least some, but softness.
Cons
  • You can consider buying if you want to save money. Medium in severity - 8 kg. There are also heavier ones - 10-11 kg, there are also lighter ones - 6+ kg. Cumbersome, requires refinement-adjustment-tightening of the cones of the rear hub, you will have to go to the service or buy a set of keys. The frame is too high for a child (deflection is insufficient), but not critical. Description has been overwritten. - 7.9 kg for a child is on the verge. The boy is probably normal, but I have a girl, although she is large, 3.5 years old, and active, but she fills up when she rolls nearby, the desire did not repulse, but there was no craving either - rather “I don’t want to”, but she agrees under persuasion. Well, this format is still felt as large for this age. Although he rides a balance bike, you won’t catch up, though the balance bike is very light (outgrown, unfortunately). Here I fell for the reviews "the easiest. " By the way, the description correctly says - 7.9 kg. This is a normal bike. I recommend that those who bought it remove everything that is possible - fender liner and front brake, at least for a start. - Assembly took a decent time + file. Packed really well and carefully. 1 evening for the first "curve" assembly, 2nd evening for disassembly-assembly of the rear hub (I had to remember the experience of the Soviet "Ukraine"). - Without adjustment, the rear wheel in free rotation made a QUARTER of a turn and stopped - without adjustment, nothing . In the absence of a tool, it was possible to adjust the cone only on one side. On the other hand, it was not possible to approach - you need a thin key and a key in the form of a fork with bends at the end, or some kind of round-nose pliers with thin tips. It began to rotate at least 5 revolutions before stopping. You definitely need to bring it to the bike shop, you won’t go out of the box. The rest is trifles. Could be improved, but solved: - the front brake (on a cable) requires adjustment, rubs against the front wheel. - no keys included. I had the usual hexagons and keys, but the rear sleeve cannot be disassembled without special keys. - there is no quick-release seat height adjustment.

Never buy this product.

We drove 200 meters, dismantled the rear hub. The bearing metal has already been eaten away from the rear brake side. Bearings are the cheapest. The wheel doesn't spin at all. There is no service warranty center of this manufacturer anywhere except St. Petersburg. The bike is not prepared from the factory If you do not want to suffer with the service, I do not recommend taking it. The price does not match the quality of the product ate: I went over the rear hub: they assembled it incorrectly

Pros
  • Beautiful. The kids liked it
Cons
  • The quality of the rear bearing is no. Wings steel (it was possible to put plastic) Weight is without wings and rollers. No seat fastener
