Description of πŸ“ 4/09 Shingle Gauge by Haag

Measures the thickness of shingle and based on analyses correlates that thickness to warranty level. Designed with the strictest analytical tolerances possible. Scales for both 3-Tab Organic and Laminated shingle varieties. A great tool important for determining what a comparable replacement shingle might be. Includes a 5 inch ruler on one side.

As expected

Needless to say this is the standard. I'm a claims handler and I couldn't do my job without one of these clapboard gauges.

Arrived quickly. on Measurement and Layout Tools

My son works as an insurance adjuster and uses this tool every day. He left his on someone's roof so it had to be replaced. This one came with a clip, so maybe he's not leaving it anywhere now.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Blank

easy to pick up πŸ™„ I needed it and I just paid.

Most roofing materials sell for less than $25. I suspect they keep them behind the counter because it's a small package easy to pick up. I needed it and just paid extra here.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Negatives available

Great because it's the only option.

I think it's the best because it's the only company that makes it. At the same time, $35 for stamped steel with black enamel paint is absurd. Ok HAG. It's not like you have competition.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Fits

$35 for a tiny piece of metal that doesn't last long

As other reviewers have written, Haag is the only manufacturer that makes them and hence they are able to extend their monopolistic strong hand by using charge a whopping $35. for a 6 inch high piece of metal. I might be willing to pay that kind of money for something so simple. A very high quality tool that will last a lifetime for $35? Act! Unfortunately, this tool is just a piece of metal with a silk-screened mark - not even engraved! In this case, Haag is just taking advantage of the lack…

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Minor issues
