Description of General Tire Grabber X3 245/80 R15 104Q all season

The new General Tire mud tires provide excellent off-road performance and good on-road performance. With an aggressive design, the Grabber X3 is particularly durable thanks to its innovative tread properties. One of the novelties of the famous North American brand, the General Tire Grabber X3 summer tire is distinguished by its scope. This model was developed for SUVs, most of which are used on unpaved surfaces, that is, off-road. When it was created, several progressive technological solutions were used that provided the tire with excellent performance. This model is characterized by good efficiency on earthen surfaces with a high moisture content. To a large extent, this is ensured by the configuration of the tread blocks. Those of them that are located in the shoulder areas have special recesses. Due to this, the blocks, when in contact with a soft ground surface, form additional gripping edges, which increases gripping properties. In turn, the blocks in the center of the tread also contain similar elements, but their configuration is such that they reduce the aggressive impact of stones on the tire, increasing its service life. This technology is a set of solutions in the design of the tread pattern, aimed at protecting the sidewall of the tire from punctures and cuts, as well as providing additional traction when driving on rocky surfaces. Most of them fall on the shoulder zones, each of which contains a number of transverse blocks. These tread elements are characterized by a complex composite structure. A significant part of it is located on the sidewalls of the tire. We are talking about special ledges that are a continuation of the shoulder blocks. The coupling edges formed by them in the lateral projection form the letter X, and in addition to the aesthetic function, they have a purely practical purpose. These tread elements prevent damage to the sidewalls of the tire and also improve traction on rocky surfaces. This model was one of the first tires of the brand, where DURAGEN technology was used. It is a set of solutions aimed at improving several operational properties. In particular, it incorporates a three-ply steel cord-reinforced carcass, which makes the tire durable and resistant to punctures and cuts in off-road use. Another component of this technology is the rubber compound. Its composition contains a number of substances that give the tread resistance to aggressive mechanical stress, as well as make it resistant to abrasive wear. The third element of DURAGEN technology is the breaker. It is entirely made of steel cord, which is made of threads woven into wide ribbons.

The right product for me, there were no problems.

In general, I am satisfied with the rubber, I haven’t climbed into good mud yet, but I tried it in snowy spring porridge - it’s definitely better than the old hencook.

Pros
  • Quieter than you'd expect from an MT. I didn’t feel aquaplaning, it diverts water to the side, it doesn’t throw it on itself, compared to the AT-M dynapro in the same conditions.
Cons
  • They write that they don’t feel the rut on the pavement . . I don’t know how it is with others, but 235/85 r16 on my jeep zj in a rut like on rails, climbs out, but with an idea - perhaps they went too far with castor, of course.

UAZ Hunter car. I bought General X3 225/75 R16. operation in the countryside. Traveling, fishing, off-road riding. The tire came to replace the worn-out Japanese woman. I took it and I do not regret anyone! ))) American tire, without overpayments for a big name, marketing and advertising. I didn’t balance because in my case I don’t see the point. In general, I am very satisfied with the choice and can recommend it for places with a direction and no roads. I will add a review later.

Pros
  • The first thing I noticed is traction! Pulls everywhere! Muddy clay, chernozem field, river stone and fords, just give it up and do it yourself! When driving along streams, pebbles and sand do not bury the wheels. A lot in the area where I ride sharp stones. Naturally, at first I was worried about the sidewall. But all is well, no damage, the tire is solid. On asphalt, the tire is not particularly noisy (although where does this concept come from in this car), I didn’t notice any changes as usual on rolling. What is more important, the self-cleaning of the tread is very good, dirt and stones do not get stuck, so there is no trace of this good on the asphalt. I haven’t picked out stones from the tread more than once (it was on a Japanese woman). Handling is adequate and intuitive.
Cons
  • Of the minuses, there is no white font for the name of the brand and model on the side of the sidewall. Perhaps I would put it on the outside with a white pin.

Great product, best quality.

I bought tires before winter in the amount of 215/75R15 for Niva. Tires stood up like a glove, did not even have to resort to cutting the arches. It was not possible to conduct a full-fledged test in the mud, although there was already little experience in operating in the forest. The first impression, given the not very aggressive tread pattern, is excellent. The tires pull as they should, they allow you to get out of the rut without problems. In the summer of 2022, I will test these tires to…

Pros
  • Good quality for a relatively inexpensive price.
Cons
  • Until I discovered

High-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

General Grabber surprised with its softness and noiselessness. The other day it was raining heavily and I managed to immediately check the tires for water drainage. The old tires threw water straight onto the windshield. The new ones take everything aside! Just great. I suspect that hydroplaning can also be almost forgotten. Quiet, Good handling, Good cross, Price. Not sensitive to rut. If you lower it a little, then it rides just super on the comb.

Pros
  • surprised by its softness and quietness
Cons
  • did not reveal, but it seems that due to the soft composition, the tread can wear out quickly
