Works great, but not easy to install.

Grab a 12-pack, turn on the classic rock station, and get ready to have some fun. It was a real duty, but after some manipulation, she entered. Maybe it has something to do with my front end getting beat up for nice jumps. You will probably feel better.

Pros
  • Outstanding All-Round Performance
Cons
  • Empty

Good product in winds

I have a 2002 Honda Rancher 350 4x4. Other reviews some true some not so the unit itself was perfect with a small bracket that needed a bit of bending put it in a vise then gave a controlled rap fitted no problem I would use the supplied U-bolts against exchange the heavier supplied cheap ones.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Easy serviceability

Fits 2000 Rancher

Installation illustrations are annoying but easy to install. The bottom plate is solid and well made, but the hardware is cheap. I replaced the U-bolts with longer, stronger ones. The top U-bolts were too short to thread either side and I was able to remove one of them after about 4 turns. In general I am satisfied.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • slightly dented

The front bumper needs to be straight to fit.

If your bumper is crooked, bowed or crooked like most Rancher bumpers I see, it will be difficult to install since the frontmost bracket bolts are attached to the bumper's front bumper. . Otherwise. Good business. screws straight ahead. Puts the winch in a very tight spot so I recommend buying a winch with a remote freewheel function as it is difficult to get to the release handle.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Volume

Great fit, terrible features.

The bracket itself is strong, consistent with the original characteristics. It even fits the winch I bought from Harbor Trucking Company. I had to drill mounting holes to accept the narrower bolt pattern on the HF reels. The included U-bolts are a joke. A few of them broke free before things got tight. The nylon locknuts that came with the kit also came loose from the threads. I had to go to the store, buy reinforced U-bolts and cut off the excess.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Periodicity

The hardware is terrible.

Insert fits perfectly. You will need to modify the bottom bracket to properly fit the existing holes. Or just drill new holes. But the hardware is absolutely terrible. The U-bolts were threaded by tightening them with 2 fingers with a wrench (no exaggeration). I even took great care not to weave threads. I would replace everything. When the U-bolts are so easy to turn. I can't imagine that with one strong enough pull you're going to mess everything up and rip out your entire rig.

Pros
  • GOLS-certified
Cons
  • Basically ok, but...

Easy install with minor modifications

Nothing "screws" ever Easy to attach, slight bend in main body (you can do this by stepping on it) Replace crappy U- Bolts through 1/4"4" from a local hardware store, had to cut (trim) and re-drill (a hacksaw will do) the bracket that attaches the unit to the down tubes. If you have a 4 wheeler, you have the means and know-how to set the hour. The holes for the winch matched. Make sure all brackets and U-bolts are in place before tightening everything. Certainly better than trying to build your

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

  • Not bad but...
