Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

A lens that became "legendary" long before the start of the sale :) More than 2 years of waiting since the first show, rumors, comnstant uncertainty about the release date and characteristics turned it into a legend. It seemed to be there (prototypes, a bunch of pre-production lenses at all sorts of events where Canon handed them out for temporary testing to trusted photographers), but it didn’t seem to exist. And no one said anything, no real "full-size" examples of pictures from it. . But on…

Pros
  • Exceptionally high image quality, sharpness at the level of EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II, moderate weight (with such dimensions! ), built-in 1.4x extender, it is possible to use external extenders along with the internal one, excellent stabilizer, almost 5 stops.
Cons
  • Price, but what did you want for such a unique lens? :)

The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.

I photographed 2 periods of a hockey match with it, at the long end at 4.0 it is slightly soft, but this is the trouble of all zooms, you can take pictures from 10 meters. 1 photo with orbitra 400mm 4.5, 2 photos 275mm 4.5, both photos are cropped by about 50%

Pros
  • Ideal focal length for photography, sports. The quality is on top, the zoom wheel spins easily (with ease with one finger)
Cons
  • Too heavy (3700g) a little tired hand to hold 2 periods of a hockey match, 400mm 4.0 is soft, EXPENSIVE! !

In general, it's pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

As soon as you take it in your hands, you are immediately surprised by its weight. You can shoot even without a monopod. The stub works imperceptibly and does a great job. Focuses quickly. Almost the same as 70-200. But slower than my 400 \ 2.8. Hole 4, with converter on 5.6. Which is dark. In general, the lens is good, but not worth a million. Pros: Ease of use. Light weight (compared to other super zooms). The built-in converter is very convenient. In this regard, the relative versatility of…
