A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

I switched to Qnap D4 in the spring of 2022 after 7 years of using Synology ds413j, which already seemed quite slow, and I also wanted to get an external USB 3.0 port for faster data copying from NASA to external hdd. At first I looked at the Asustor AS1004T, which is offered at a very attractive price, but there were doubts that everything in it works as adequately as in Synology and Qnap.
In general, devices of the same price level from Qnap and Synology are equivalent in their capabilities, but in terms of the “slickness” of the Synology web interface, I would still put it in first place. But Qnap offers more "buns" for a little less money. The D4 has 2 gigabit LAN ports with the ability to combine them (requires an appropriate LAN switch), and as many as 3 USB 3.0. Two LAN ports will allow in the future to slightly increase the speed of data copying from us over the network, if one gigabit is not enough at all.

Pros
