Review on Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta R3 205/55 R16 94R winter by Stanislaw Koluch ᠌

A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

I was pleased with the Nokian Hakkapelitta R2 throughout my three winters of driving it. I chose to upgrade my tires to a set of R3 195/65/15 at the start of this winter, selling the old set while the tread was still relatively intact. So, while the R2s were already rather quiet, the newer R3s are considerably better, and are nearly silent on the road. When using ContiPremium Contact5 tires (which are excellent in the summer), the R3 is even quieter on the pavement. I drive a Volkswagen Golf 6 (Mk6). The improvement in handling is also notable. What's more, the R3 tires performed better while paddling through deep snow in yards that hadn't been shoveled. If it occasionally got caught on R2, it has not stalled at all throughout the first three months of this winter on R3. The R3 is the greatest tire on the market for individuals who value ride quality, quietness, and control, in my opinion. It goes without saying that braking will be more difficult than on spikes if the road is covered in ice and loose snow. Velcro's many benefits, however, including its ability to provide quiet and confidence when driving, as well as effective braking on cold asphalt (even when sprayed with chemicals). For me, the spikes' noise is intolerable, and I have no choice but to use the R3. Not much different from the summer Continental climate, I did not experience any valkost. In my perspective, the R3 tires do not compromise the already excellent handling of the Volkswagen Golf.

Pros
  • Extremely silent, much more so than R2. Strong hold. Details can be found in the comments below.
Cons
  • That is, until I learned
