Review on Large Push Block For Woodworking - Woodstock W1401 by Corey Moulton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Safety and Convenience

These blocks are great. I'm a novice woodworker. Before I bought my DeWalt 744X I had never used a table saw. Although I have lots of experience with a circular saw in DIY home improvement applications, the table saw is a different beast and, especially the first few times I used a table saw, I had about the comfort level as if that beast was a pissed off German Shepard on a chain, barking its head off. These push blocks allow me more control over the wood I'm cutting. With downward pressure against the cutting piece, there is less likelihood that the piece with somehow wander away from the fence, ruining the quality of the cut and creating a kickback risk. The push blocks are especially useful with a dado stack, allowing you to keep the piece from vibrating while the channel is being cut.Used in conjunction with a push stick, the dog has settled down a bit.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The push block is not well balanced and can cause the operator to lose control
