Review on Under sink filter Atoll A-550m STD 1/2" white by Kiril Gentschev ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything about the purchase suits me, a very necessary product.

It has been over a year since I bought and installed this reverse osmosis system, so it is time for me to share some of my thoughts. 1) The mineralizer at the fifth stage is combined with a carbon post-filter in this instance, creating a sort of 2-in-1 system that will clean the water after the tank and saturate it with minerals so that distillate is completely avoided. There is just one such cartridge available on the market, the Pentek GS-10CAL / RO, and it comes packaged. Since there would be no financial gain, I won't switch it to a number of the 5th stage post-filter and the 6th stage mineralizer in the future. 2) Regarding the membrane, it comes from the factory as the Filmtec 1812-50, with a capacity of 50 gallons per day. If wanted, it can be increased to 75 gallons; however, I chose not to do so because a household of three people plus a cat is plenty for the eyes. More information about the membrane can be found online at a reputable retailer. For instance, the Vontron ULP1812-50 membrane, which is packaged in a box labeled "Geyser," costs 900 against 1500 and has been produced for a long time by our Chinese allies. But since everyone makes their own decisions in this case, I decided to get a cheaper membrane from China. However, I will change it once a year rather than every two years because, when a membrane reaches the end of its useful life, the water seems unwilling to pass through a "tired" membrane. 3) Replacement of cartridges and resource: Although the original cartridges (American and Pentek) performed well for a period of time, it was decided to purchase Atoll after examining their cost. Opening the first stage flask with a 5 micron cartridge in August 2022, when the next replacement time was approaching (1, 2, 3, and 5 stages), one might see the following:. It was decided to replace the membrane as well after some precipitation from such water and after looking at alternative cartridges. As a result, it was decided to leave the rest alone while cutting the replacement duration for the first stage to three months and the membranes to one year. Let's look at the Barrier cartridges I just took.

Pros
  • 1. The availability of high-quality water, since it eventually became too sluggish to go to the shop and buy a 5l canister when the water ran out at home. 2. The filter itself is of a high caliber. 3. Installation is straightforward, but the instructions are extremely complicated and make it difficult to complete tasks that should be simple.
