We bought this bag for a trip that is a 5 hour drive each way and it did great except for the awful noise from the straps. Like all the other reviews state, there are no instructions. It’s pretty easy to put up if you have a roof rack though. But what we learned is that it’s more suitable for a roof rack with cross bars. There are back and front straps on the bag that are attached specifically to go in the back and front onto cross bars. Our SUV does not have those so we attached them off to the side bars instead. That was what made the noise problem. It was a horrible humming noise due to the straps catching the wind the right way when you go over 40 mph. It was awful. So we decided to keep the front straps off for the ride back and it fixed the problem. The bag did not budge one bit. The mat it comes with helps a lot too. The bag held up great for the drive. On our way home we were in hours of torrential downpours and one suitcase had a couple of spots of water on it but nothing seeped through the luggage and we had it packed full. So overall it is a great bag and it does the job it is supposed to do. But be aware of the issue with the front straps if you don’t have crossbars.* ** Adding a revision after original review.the company emailed me asking what they could do to make us happier after seeing the problem with the noise. I told them I would recommend instructions with the bag and maybe add to the description that it works best with crossbars. They responded that they will add instructions. They also offered compensation, which I did not take, because we are very happy with the quality of the bag. Very nice and responsive business to work with
