Top quality discs - one step ahead of the competition

I've been using the Taiyo Yuden/JVC Watershield discs for about a year. After going through 50 discs I was generally very happy with them but wanted to evaluate my skills before buying another disc spindle. For me, 50 discs is about 3/4 of the yearly cost. I use these discs to burn digital images for delivery to clients. They should look good and last a long time. Given the importance of this product to me, it just doesn't make sense to save a penny here. I wanted better. After a bit of research, I felt these discs could be a little better, so I decided to give them a try. So far I am very happy with this decision. I print these discs on my Epson Artisan 730 printer using genuine Epson inks. I found the tone, color saturation and color fidelity of these discs to be absolutely superb. I was really surprised at how much better I thought they looked than the JVC Watershield discs. The JVC drives seemed to have problems with very dark and very light tones, leaving me with an image that seemed to lack the tonal range it was intended to have. While colors were good, they were slightly different than what I got with my calibrated monitor. These Verbatim discs provided colors that are absolutely accurate compared to my monitor. I couldn't be happier with them. Also, the sharpness and clarity I get from discs is comparable to high quality glossy prints. Color saturation and shine are exceptional. If a nit is selected I would say that if you look very closely (closer than any customer) you will notice a slight graininess or lack of resolution in the printed image on disk. This appears to be more of a printer issue than a hard drive issue. This effect is extremely small and may actually be worth 1/4 star. I can give these discs an unreserved recommendation without further ado. They are simply the best I've found in terms of image quality.
