perfect replacement for Comcast Xfinity Modem

Easiest setup I've ever tried. I just connected it to the cable and turned it on. My computer immediately opened the Xfinity website and I simply entered my Comcast username and password. A few minutes later I was back online. DONE! My download speed has increased from 250 mb/s to 295! First, it's much easier to reconnect all peripherals (computer, iPad, Nest, etc.) as long as you use the same username and password as you did on your previous Wi-Fi network. The best part was when I returned my previous modem to Comcast. While waiting in line, I overheard a cashier telling another customer that the current rate for renting a modem is $11 and will increase to $13 on January 1st (Bonus! I'm getting my new modem back faster). Then when I come forward to return my modem, the cashier scans it and asks where my new modem is so they can check it in. I told them it was already plugged in and working, including the phone line. She starts telling me that without registering, once they remove my current modem, I will lose the connection in the house because the new modem hasn't been registered yet. I assure them it has been working fine for the past 5 days but they keep asking me if I want to proceed with returning their modem, which I do. They give me a receipt and a paper with instructions to call Comcast to register the modem if it stops working. When I got home the modem still works GREAT without me having to call and register it. I realize Comcast wants to steal every penny from their customers, from renting equipment to trying to intimidate me into keeping their modem and paying them for it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Legacy model
