I'm new to sewing and was looking for a cheap sewing machine. I wanted to pick a singer or brother model, but my more experienced friend convinced me to spend $50 more and buy a Juki. I'm glad I followed her advice. The instruction manual is very easy to follow and a DVD is also included. The DVD didn't work on my Macbook but I attribute that to my Macbook being outdated and yet I found the same instructional video on YouTube. This machine runs very quietly and the pedal is sensitive enough to sew VERY slowly or very quickly. I bought some heavy duty general purpose needles because I wanted to work with jeans and this machine does a great job. It is also compatible with all low shank presser foot attachments. If you are hesitant to buy, I would definitely say it's worth buying!
