These are some downsides: It's not a big deal if the wire gets tangled up occasionally; all you have to do is wind it up a little more carefully. The wire goes into each speaker, though it's easier to manage when it's only going into one. Again, this is something that can be tolerated; perhaps it's just a passing whim.
