Review on πŸ“Έ Joby GP1-A1EN Gorillapod Flexible Tripod (Grey): The Perfect Camera Companion for Ultimate Versatility by Kenny Outlaw

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The best small universal tripod!

Joby Gorrillapod is the best small tripod for point and shoot cameras. I use it all the time with my Canon SD4000 camera and even occasionally with my Sony Nex-7 mirrorless camera. You will not be disappointed with this purchase! Features - Small and lightweight: Weighs only 1.6 ounces, small enough to fit almost anywhere - Grips tight: I use it regularly on railings, uneven surfaces, and even the edges of tables and chairs - Durable: I've been using it in dusty and wet conditions for months and it still drives like new - Secure connection to camera: Holds a camera weighing less than 11.5 ounces securely every time and quickly releases with a lock - Strong, grippy feet : Holds almost anything in place with easy pan/tilt adjustment by simply moving your feet. I'm not sure who did the weight conversion and listings on Amazon, but the 325 gram capacity listed on Joby's website comes in 11.5 oz, not 9.7 oz, nor 12.5 oz or (typo ?) 335 grams converted. Larger versions are available for larger cameras with the same benefits except for the smaller size. That's why I use my Nex-7 on this tripod, which weighs 10.3 ounces without the lens. With my small kit lens, this tripod is relatively solid anyway, except in portrait mode. It can even easily hold a Nex-7 with a 55-210 lens (just 22.4 ounces, well over design intent) if properly balanced on a flat surface.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
