Not a bad product, nothing extraordinary.

I bought a product that competes with it called "Western Digital WD Blue 1 TB WD10SPZX," and I wrote a review about it, pointing out some of its faults. However, this Seagate is not as good as the WD that was mentioned earlier. The sole drawback of WD is that the head parks after eight seconds of inactivity (assuming the disk in question is not a system drive), and it takes approximately one and a half seconds to start spinning again. It would appear that Seagate does not park at all given that it does not park after such a brief length of time (I just did not follow this parameter, but I will indicate it here later). The temperature does not exceed standard operating parameters, thus there is no need for concern. This Seagate has a very noisy read head, the crack is as if you are grabbing the edge of a thick sticker with a layer of hard / hard polyethylene with your finger, pulling the edge of this sticker and releasing it, after which there is a characteristic hit / click on the surface on which this sticker is pasted. This Seagate has a very noisy read head. This CD occasionally generates almost identical clicks or something very close, but with a somewhat lower volume. Seagate also has a slower data transfer rate compared to Western Digital's products. It is possible to say that this drive is two times slower than WD. In addition, it was instantly apparent when I copied the data. If one file of a movie is copied to Seagate from another drive at a speed of 62-64 Mb/s, then WD can copy the same movie file from another drive at a speed of 110-120 Mb/s. A discussion over the relative velocities of the two disks shown in the screenshots.

Pros
  • Is that the cost for a 1 TB storage space?
Cons
  • - a rumbling in the skull - a sluggish speed
