I was trying to use the FiiO BTA30 as a Bluetooth transmitter with a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. The headphones paired easily and the LED on the BTA30 indicated that the LDAC codec was being used. The sound over the optical connection was transmitted correctly. However, when I turned off the Sony headphones and then turned them back on, they would not connect to the BTA30. Sony immediately "spoken out" and continued to do so even after turning off the BTA30 and headphones. I tried a second pair of WH-1000XM3 with BTA30 and experienced the same behavior. Tried a pair of Bose QC35II with BTA30 - all worked fine. I could turn the headphones off and on again and they would instantly reconnect with no issues. I don't know if the WH-1000XM4 behaves the same as I don't have a pair to test.
