I found that it works as described. I took espresso out of a Nespresso capsule and used it for the maiden voyage of the reusable pod. It worked as expected, and then some. What I mean is that the amount of espresso grounds you put in is good for a single shot. The bar code is for a double shot (which I ordered intentionally). So I end up "pulling" a shot and a half so that the grounds don't get over extracted. (I use the espresso for iced coffee, so the milk provides some error tolerance.) The taste is dependent upon the coffee you use - and there is the same crema/foam when using Cafe Bustelo as the sealed pods from Nespresso. The spin-up is smooth and balanced, and the photos are to show what is left after it finishes. Easy to clean - the puck doesn't "knock out" but a quick dig with chopstick and a fast rinse and you're ready to go. Probably the easiest thing in my kitchen to clean.I used a dark roast Sumatra, but it was weak - but that was my fault because it wasn't espresso roast. Complete user error. When I got the brick of ground Cafe Bustela, it was perfect. I bought a coffee grinder so I can experiment down the road, but I wanted to make sure that the basic system works, and it does.I contacted the company because I wanted to know if the base of the larger (coffee) Capmesso would fit on the lid of the double espresso so I could get a stronger shot and they said that they would be interchangeable. They replied to each of my emails in a few hours and were very positive and thorough. So, that's what I'm going to do, get the bigger base and use the double-espresso bar-coded lid and not sleep for days.I'd give it five stars if it held a little more coffee, but I'm a fan, it works, and I'm looking forward to playing with various grinds, roasts, flavors, etc.
