Review on 55" Samsung TV QE55Q87TAU 2020 QLED, HDR, black silver by Makoto Oonishi ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy, it really is worth buying.

Chose sooo long, 3 months. There were a lot of options. Started with Samsung UE55TU8570U. Then I decided to add a budget. I also looked towards Sony KD-55XH9077 and Sony KD-55XH9505. Considered LG Nanocell and LG OLED55CXR. I settled on this for several reasons: 1. Completely satisfied with Tizen. WebOS likes less. I was ready to get used to the android as a whole. 2. TV is often used for games. In the future, the purchase of a Playstation 5. Therefore, I still wanted HDMI 2.1 (even if it does not affect anything at all and will not be used there, I’m calmer that it is.) 3. OLED was noticeably more expensive (about 35-40k) and it has noticeably worse contrast. Here is something more pleasing to the eye. I'm not ready to overpay 35-40k for deep blacks with worse contrast. 4. Sony as a whole just didn't like it. Although there is a 10-bit matrix (Here 8bit + FRC). But the soul did not lie down. The image is again the taste and color, and Samsung and Sony have their pros and cons. For me, this TV is a balance for those who not only watch TV, but also play. He has everything he needs on board. I liked QLED, there is a difference with the usual LCD. In this budget, there are competitors in the form of Sony and LG. But here already someone likes it. I advise you to watch all the TVs live and after that make a decision. By the way, the difference with the Q80 is in the presence of an anti-reflective film. I took Q87 because there was no difference in price. I hope this review will help someone make a choice.

Pros
  • 1. Image, before that there was a regular Samsung UE40MU6470U of 2022, the difference is visible in good quality, it is hardly noticeable on the air. Black is deeper, of course it does not reach OLED. 2. Sound, he really tries to volume, the difference is noticeable. 3. Convenient and understandable interface, not overloaded with anything. Works fast, no glitches. 4. Remote. For me, this is the best remote I have ever seen. Magic from LG is not so convenient (LG hangs in the kitchen), and most importantly, it is overloaded with a bunch of buttons, here is minimalism and simplicity, but at the same time functionality. 5. Design. It looks good and has a normal stand without the stupid legs on the sides. 6. It is possible to install Forkplayer or something similar without any problems. Question 10 minutes.
Cons
  • 1. Price. For the full price list, I would not take it (it cost 86 on Black Friday). Here you can already look towards OLED. Or buy about 90 in an online store, I don’t see a problem in this either. 2. I would like more HDMI 2.1 ports (It's only 1).
