Review on Digital piano CASIO PX-S1000 white by Andrey Andonov ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product at a good price, I recommend to try it.

Since childhood, I really wanted to learn how to play something other than nerves. And I'll buy myself some kind of musical instrument! A harmonica for example. And I bought myself a CASIO PX-S1000 digital piano in a white case. For a long time I went looking between four manufacturers: Casio, Yamaha, Korg and Roland. Korg immediately disappeared, because in my city I did not find anything cheaper than $ 1500 After a lot of walking and thinking? there is only one option left - Roland FP 30 in a white case. I liked everything about it. And sound. (Oh, what basses are there! - I mean notes. And this is when the strings resonate with each other. ) And the keys. And functions. The only thing I didn't like was the volume control button. The Roland FP 30's strongest point is, of course, the keys. Of all the ones I've compared, the keys on the 30th Roland are the most similar to the keys on an acoustic piano. (In my experience, of course. ) But. When I came to watch the Roland FP 30 in a residential environment, I found quite a lot of noise coming from the speakers. I can't stand such noises, I thought, and was very upset. In the conditions of the store, this noise is not audible. In the store you have to listen, leaning against the speakers. And, according to reviews, they say that over time you stop noticing this noise. Well xs. In general, I was upset and went to look for a replacement. And I came across CASIO PX-S1000. And bought. Can I buy CASIO PX-S1000? Yes you can! It's a very nice instrument to play with. With good sound and keys. Is the CASIO PX-S1000 suitable for children who study at a music school? Yes it will. Little of! For children who study at a music school, the cheapest Casio CDP-S100 is suitable. Everything is simple here - go to the store with your child and let the child feel the tools. Whatever the child likes, then you take it. At the same time, the child must have the opportunity to play an acoustic instrument - in a music school or in any kind of Dom Kultury, for example. If you listen closely, the CASIO PX-S1000 speakers are also noisy. I don't notice.

Pros
  • Disclaimer: I am by no means a pianist and not a musician at all. Everything that is written below is my feeling from the instrument, as from another gadget and nothing more. Design. In general, I became a victim of marketing and design. I bought this piano for these reasons. The piano is very beautiful, you can not argue here. Especially in white or red. I have a Casio Privia PX-S1000WE in a white case. Sound. I really like the sound. There are different piano sound settings depending on the mood. Maybe I'm just deaf. Pleasant to the touch and almost correct keys. But keep in mind that the keys are noisy. You will not be able to play with headphones next to a sleeping person. You should at least go to the next room. They say that in panel houses, neighbors hear the sound of keys and complain that you have been playing drums all night. My neighbors are patient. And this is not to say that it is a minus. Because almost all piano keys are noisy. Two headphone outputs + line Has bluetooth audio I connect the piano to my smartphone via bluetooth and through headphones connected to the piano or through the piano speakers I watch and listen to training videos and immediately repeat the tasks. It is very convenient to study this way. You can also use the piano as a bluetooth speaker and listen to music. But almost no bass. Although you can listen to piano concertos. Unfortunately, there is no Bluetooth Midi. CHORDANA PLAY APP FOR PIANO: Pretty clear controls. You can watch notes. See how to play pieces, there is something like a simulator. A lot of works are already loaded into the application. If something is not clear in the management, you can go from the application to the Casio website, where there is a detailed instruction that Google Translate (Google Chrome) reads perfectly. There is USB midi. You can completely turn off the sound of the piano in the settings and the instrument turns into a midi keyboard. The fact that I will write further in the minuses does not mean that this digital piano is bad. On the contrary, the tool is excellent and solves its tasks 100%
Cons
  • There was a smell of burnt electronics. It looks like something inside is heating up. While everything is working. How long? Glossy body, fingerprints remain. Collects dust. But on a white body it is not noticeable at all. In the black case it is very noticeable (I pawed in every possible way in the store). Managing settings through the function keys is very confusing. There are no hints on the case, you have to look at the instructions. I marked some functions with a pencil on the body (so-so ). Bass is missing. When you connect a computer or smartphone via an audio cable, the speakers and headphones begin to flicker. And if you also connect a USB cable, the noise increases. Although, it could be a problem with the audio cable itself. When connected via BluetoothAudio, there are also noises, especially in headphones. But they are not noticeable when you watch a video or play the piano, and quickly turn off if the video is paused on your smartphone. Headphone connection location. You can accidentally hit and break the plug or connector. Other manufacturers have indentations in this place to protect the plugs. I unplug my headphones when I'm not playing the piano. Despite its price, you will not find additional functions, sounds, auto accompaniment and other things here. This is a piano with a minimum amount of sounds. Someone will consider this a plus, since there is nothing to be distracted by when learning. I don't like the sound of the Organ and other built-in sounds. Application: I haven't gotten to all the settings through the function keys yet, but it feels like the app is missing some of the settings that it has when managing settings through the function keys. The CHORDANA PLAY FOR PIANO app is not supported on older Android and iOS versions. So, lying idle iPad 2 and Samsung SM-T310, I could not connect to the piano. No Bluetooth Midi, despite the fact that there is Bluetooth Audio. Midi has to be connected with wires. In my case, this is a regular USB cable from a printer and a special adapter for a smartphone - an OTG cable.
