QNAP has great potential but is riddled with software bugs.

I have several QNAP products and I want to like your product but I just can't. With every firmware version something new comes out. I currently have 2 active and tested bugs for a VPN not working with QNAP support. Your NAS has a beautiful user interface and just keeps getting better. As an IT professional, I find the performance to be as expected. But I had a device that failed to rebuild the RAID as claimed so I lost all my data. Luckily I have backups. Another device died right after the 2-year warranty expired. The return and repair cost me €600. I agree that sometimes devices just fail. In my opinion, I don't care how flashy it may seem, it's all about quality. And QNAP has a very, very serious software quality issue. On the plus side, their support is free and a pleasure to respond to.
