Great pressure relief mattress for the price

So my old pressure relief mattresses pump died & hence I woke up in the middle of the night on the springs. I was already on wound care as I'm a Paraplegic with a history of pressure sores but at the time I didn't have an open wound on my hips or butt area so they refused to cover a new pump or even service the old one. That left me with little choice but to but a new alternating pressure relief mattress and pump. After looking all over online at outrageous prices, I finally came across this MedAir pump & mattress for much cheaper than the old one I had and yet this one has many more features and is SO MUCH QUIETER than my old pump. The old one was so darn loud that I literally couldn't sleep at night & it wasn't a line a white soothing noise but rather it sounded like a shop vacuum running all nt long. This MedAir pump is so quiet that you literally cannot even hear it. It also comes with a remote unlike my old one and the remote actually comes in handy for when you need to lower the amount of air in the mattress in order to change the sheets more easily. In the week between the time the old pump broke and when I received this new one, I wound up with a pressure sore on my butt. You know the same part that they refused to cover a new mattress bc I didn't have an open wound there, but during that week without an alternating pressure relief mattress & pump I got one and now the ins Co. still doesn't want to reimburse me what I pd for this one when they caused this to happen. So I'm annoyed about that but regardless in very happy with this purchase and so far so good. It's been a lil over 1 mth now and the pressure sore I got had since healed with the help of wound care. Wound care I was already in for a wound I had & still have on my ankle bone that i got from when they casted my leg after i suffered a fall breaking my leg tibia and fibula bones. All this prior to the old pump dying & yet the ins Co still refuses to pay for the new pump & mattresses. Anyway, I'm still very happy with this purchase and would recommend this product to anyone who is either bedridden or who has issues with pressure sores. This pump and mattress work really well and there are all sorts of different settings for different situations such as when sitting upright versus laying flat. Also you can click a button on the remote to make it max firm for when transferring out of the bed into a wheelchair. This mattress also comes with a CPR rapid release where you can deflate the bed in seconds. It also has a matter backup that will keep the bed fully inflated for 24 hours in the case of a power outage so that you don't wind up with yet another pressure sore. My old pump didn't have that option. All it had was an alarm that would beep repeatedly like an alarm clock as of you didn't already know their was no air left in the bed when you're laying in the springs. So dumb. Anyway, I absolutely would recommend this MedAir alternating pressure relief mattress and pump with remote as it also has individual & seperate tubes that are fully replaceable in the event that you get a leak in one part. That way you can just replace that one tube as opposed to having to replace the entire mattress. This is a very neat idea. Hopefully, I won't ever need to replace any of them but if I do at least I know I can.

Pros
  • Pressure Mattresses & Pumps
Cons
  • Not suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions.
