I have now bought two of these units and both are iron. One was installed 2 years ago on multiple devices, 2 laptops and 1 desktop without affecting performance. The disk was cleaned with "Diskpart" each time the device was changed. I also installed them on several client laptops/desktops. I had no problems, works like a charm on old and new systems. My second choice, and possibly my first, would be Crucial; I have one that is 4 years old, still works like a charm (used 24/7 until recently) and has been installed on 5 different systems - currently using as an external restore point. I also have two old SanDisks. USB sticks and two Sandisk Micro SDHC cards with adapters that work flawlessly and without exception. Sold under the brand name.
