Review on Womier K87 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Gateron Switch TKL Hot Swappable Keyboard Partitioned RGB Backlit Compact 87 Keys For PC PS4 Xbox (Yellow Switch by Brian Kumar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The mod took 8 hours. but it looks good and saved me a lot of money

This is my second mechanical keyboard and all the keyboard components I wanted are not all available (to build my own keyboard) and still feel too new to deal with it. I deeply decided that I would enjoy making a "budget keyboard" by buying this keyboard until I moved in and got the "setup" right. . It took me a good 5 minute struggle to pull ONE switch. I thought I was going insane like I suddenly didn't know how to flip the switch. But I thought. maybe it's a board as each hole is carved into this thick acrylic. You know, all you have to do is grease up your elbow a little. After about an hour and less than 5 switches I got a little mad and disassembled the board. I unscrewed the back and disassembled the top plate/frame and circuit board. I was very careful not to bend any of the pins. I then used the supplied brush and used the end of it to tap each individual switch from below. Still needed extra elbow lube, but it helped remove switches much quicker. After lubricating all the switches and legs, and then replacing the stabilizers with electrical tape, I reassembled the board. I'm not sure if it was just my board, but the cutouts for the switches definitely looked like jigsaw pieces and you had to line them up properly to fit well. Only 8 hours. no joke. and I finished the board. I've been using this board for about a week now and despite all the frustration of taking it apart I still recommend it. * Since this board is now made of acrylic, it is very prone to scratches. But I definitely like the matte look, especially with RGB. * Not exactly "ergonomic" like most mechanical keyboards. It has rubber feet but they are quite short and don't give it good tilt. but easy to secure with a wrist rest for comfort *I haven't seen any reviews of this here or on YouTube, but the switches were hard to pull. at least for me. but it helped to unscrew the circuit board. *TKL board so I'm very glad I assigned arrow keys and a set of function keys. The 60% board is great in terms of size and "portability" (can't really be carried around), but I got annoyed with all the keyboard shortcuts and extra keys I had to press to use certain keys. * I'm not crazy about RGB so I love that this board has a lot of options in terms of lighting and patterns. * I have extra USB-C cables. They will not work with this keyboard. as i mentioned this is only my second keyboard and i'm not very good with cables and technical things so i'm not sure if maybe it needs a certain type of cable but my usb c to c doesn't work and only that supplied cable seems to work. But I need to use a key so I can use it on my Mac. * The original keycaps that come with the board are nice and not too flashy in terms of font and style. * Overall I saved at least $100 plus time because everything was delivered very quickly with the Prime and I didn't have to wait for group orders or delivery. ALSO WITH FIGHT YOU CHANGE IT. sounds much better and "gasps" not
