I needed an inexpensive scanner that I could use a few times a month in my home office and this was just what I needed . The speed isn't bad, the quality is good, the software is no worse than any other scanner I've used, it works without a power adapter. A note. Don't lose the included USB cable, it doesn't work for me with a 3rd party cable but other than that it's a good buy. It sits on a shelf and connects when needed, and I've had no issues with it.
