Review on Adjustable Tactical Skull Full Face Mask For Airsoft Paintball Cosplay Costume Party Hockey - ATAIRSOFT Protective Gear by William Pacino

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality plastic mask, BUT lenses safety is SUSPECT. Check out my modification

I purchased from ebay but to my surprise the product was delivered by Revain in an Revain box and packing slip. I guess it was drop-shipped. I will be using this to play airsoft.** I modified the mask for added safety, more on this towards the end **- The look and build quality: The plastic for the face mask is top notch. It is thick and very durable. The details of the mask is very clean. The straps that came with it also very durable, but only time will tell how long the elastic will hold up. The color of the mask is great and the straps match the coloring very well.- The foam liner: I took away half a star for the comfort of the foam inside. The foam is your standard open cell type. It's not very thick, it's not very soft, and it's not smooth. Overall, the foam comfort could be better. A softer, more dense foam would have been nice.- It fogs up. The foam does not allow for air circulation around the lenses so fogging will be an issue.- SAFETY: This is where i took another half star. Nowhere in the box is it stated that the lenses are impact resistant. In fact, others have tested the lenses and have found that they will not deflect airsoft bbs the 0.20 gram or heavier. The lenses may shatter and allow the BB to penetrate. Most of us only get one pair of eyes. You damage those and your life is permanently more difficult. I personally like the eyes I was born with and would very much like to keep them in good functioning order. So, to use this mask I made the modification pictured.- Mod: Buy a pair of ANSI rated shatterproof safety glasses that are wide angle, that has a lot of clearance to allow you to wear glasses underneath. Like the VANLINKER anti-fog safety glasses sold here on Revain. Remove the frame. On the mask, remove the 6 screws that is holding the frame around the lenses. Remove the frame and the lenses from the mask and set them aside. Using masking tape, secure the safety glasses to the outside of the mask - make sure the safety glasses cannot move and is lined up properly. Get a small drill bit and drill two holes from the inside of the mask and through the safety glasses. The best place is right between the eyes just above the nasal bridge. Secure the safety glasses to the mask with two screws. Put the original lenses back in the mask and screw the lenses frame back into place. That should now keep your eyes safe.
