Review on Renewed Seagate BarraCuda 5TB SATA 6Gb/s Internal Hard Drive - 2.5-Inch, 15mm (ST5000LM000) with 128MB Cache by Carlos Whitfield

I needed the biggest 2.5" drive I could get/afford to put in a Tivo Bolt+ DVR. I decided to take a chance and buy this refurbished drive as it is cheaper than a new one. The drive arrived in great packaging and looks brand new. I installed it in a Tivo Bolt+ DVR and it works as expected. Now I have over 790 hours of storage for HD recordings. Note that this is a 15mm high drive, which is taller than most laptop drives, although 15mm is one of the common standard heights for 2.5" drives. Just make sure your device can handle a hard drive of that height. It fits perfectly with Tivo Bolt+. I also installed one of these in my MSI GT72S MQE laptop and technically a 15mm drive will not fit; I was able to install it but the bottom cover of the laptop doesn't close tightly where the hard drive is (there is a bulge on the plastic). This is workable but technically incorrect. If you need a high-capacity 2.5-inch drive, this refurbished 5TB model is a solid choice if you can handle the 15mm height.
