Sony PS3/LED TV: Receiver

I loved it when I got it in the mail but then I hated it. Now I'm really learning to appreciate it. This is a very clean sounding hi fidelity unit with a decent feature set. My problem was with HDMI handheld jitter. I connected it to my PS3 and a 2012 Hi End LED. There was a lot of flashing (black screen - snow [like snow on old school TV] - one second of the Denon picture - then repeat). Problem: Apparently not all of my HDMI cables were 1.4 cat2. My solution: Plugged the PS3 directly into the TV and switched it to HDMI output (previously it was in component mode - held the power button), replaced the Sony PS3 brand HDMI cable. with Hi-Band 1.4 Cat2 version. Now everything works fine. Denon likes to see all high bandwidth 1.4 cables and a 1.3 cable in a system can ruin your connection. Now the Denon seems to be working fine and is a lot of fun. I want the manual to be on paper and not on a floppy disk, and I want there to be something that tells me to leave my cables the same or else the unit could flicker. By the way, I thought there might be heat issues, but I have it under the shelf, there's only 4 inches of space around it, and after 48 hours of use, it's not too hot and everything is stable. So don't worry about overheating. This is a good device, it just takes some getting used to. Notes: I had the setting set to LAST source. this means that the device continues to work with the previous input parameters until new initial parameters are sent from the device. That means Denon wants to see direction. If you switch to an empty source (free HDMI slot) it may flicker while searching for digital information, getting nothing and feeling lost. So switch back to a known working HDMI port and the blinking should stop (assuming all other connections on your system are set up correctly).
