We got the silver because the black looked too "plasticy", if you will. The silver, in the pictures, looked very nice. When received, it looked just as good as the pictures. Build quality was as good as you could expect in this price range; obviously it is not going to be brushed aluminum without a hefty price tag (not that you would want this in a tuner without an external antenna).More importantly, most of the affordable tuners with internet radio sounded pretty poor with the low mids and bass severely lacking. This unit has a pretty natural sound; we are very impressed with the sound quality. The display is better than units costing twice as much and the user interface is intuitive.We've had this unit installed under one of our cabinets for well over 6 months and mainly use the internet radio. If this will be your application too, buy one now! My husband did have a complaint about the mounting hardware and mentioned that in order for the unit to sit flush under the front of the cabinet, you cannot have a lip on the bottom of your cabinet. This was because the radio slid onto the hardware from the front instead of from the back; therefore the lip on the bottom of the cabinet forces you to install the tuner further back under your cabinet instead of flush with the front of it.For what it's worth, we rarely ever write reviews, but had to for this under-cabinet tuner. Very impressed.
