There is no such thing as a thin coat, so get that outta your mind. This product, much like Flex Seal (can, not spray) goes on extremely thick. It’s like using a paint brush to spread maple syrup on a pancake. And that’s what makes it work so great!I put this to the test on a leaking and dilapidated bird bath. The thing really should be replaced but I figured I’d try and seal it first.White would have been better for this job but all I was offered was black, and I needed to paint it blue anyway, so no big deal.Did a quick, half-hearted job removing the dirt and peeling paint and went to town with this Gorilla goo and a throw away paint brush. There is no way you’re cleaning this off a brush so use one you don’t like. Yes, this product pulled some bristles out of the brush and left them in my finish, but I was not going for a showpiece here. Just a bird bath that actually holds water.Once done applying, I let it sit. And sit. And sit. Even on a fairly warm and breezy day, Gorilla Patch and Seal will not be rushed. Takes hours and hours to even get a "skin” on it and full cure is 24-48 hours.Finally, I painted it blue because a black bird bath is not ideal. And what I wound up with was a bird bath that holds water!This brush on product is much better than a spray can because for all my complaints about cure time, it really seeps into, and fills cracks and leaves a smooth finish. FYI, it seems to remain somewhat tacky even after dry so it may be a dirt magnet if you don’t paint it.
