Review on Portable Acoustics JBL Boombox 2, 80 W, black by Catalina Mihalache ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the quality is good, the price is acceptable.

Do you think I'll be delighted to praise? A good 4 out of 5 for the column. There are many JBL speakers in use, and among them, clip 3, flip 5, and boombox 2 are the best in terms of price-quality ratio. Boombox 2 does not receive a perfect score due to the cost and the absence of aptX, but it has no rivals in terms of sound that are of a similar form factor. In 2022, I purchased it through the official Harman Club store. I was able to place an order at a pickup location for 21 thousand using a promo code from VK, which is not awful but also not inexpensive. Given that Flip 5 exists and that there won't be any pairing between the columns in the first version, I purchased it judiciously. Party Boost causes an audible difference in the sound, especially if the speakers are more than 2-3 meters apart. A stereo effect develops, and the sound becomes louder. Boombox 2 easily fills a large area, and at a distance of up to 15 meters from the speaker, the sound is powerful, with good bass, and free of porridge—even when it is already so loud that you can't hear what is playing or who is singing. Everyone comments on how juicy and awesome the bass sounds when I use it in a private home's patio and when I take it to the river. The neighbors in the unit will hear your music playing at a volume of more than 70%. Despite my extreme apprehension over the hue, it turned out to be deeper than in the photograph and appears more vibrant and juicy than the black version. Compared to the black version, the color is considerably more useful, and the prints are less obvious in the sunlight. Since the first one can be had for acceptable money and the second one is for many people absurdly expensive, I will not advise buying the column. However, if you are considering using Party Boost to link speakers, there are other options like the Flip 5 or JBL Pulse 4. If you normally enjoy new technology, you won't regret purchasing version 2, and the Bluetooth 5.1 version is unquestionably a major bonus in a busy setting with many devices. Best wishes and good health!

Pros
  • First, the musical component. Now that Bluetooth 5.1 is available, the range has increased and can easily pass through a few walls at home. When there are several other devices nearby, the signal is stable and there are no delays or interruptions at all. Why is the music playing now? Everyone focuses on the bass when writing about this track, however overall, the sound is great, with good highs and mids. The speaker performs honestly well. I listened to a variety of genres on my playlist, ranging from metal with classics to electronic styles, and I didn't detect any mush that was frank for such a little form size. Although I don't debate much about it, the sound is deep and booming, but the bass does not obstruct the other frequencies, which is quite significant. 2) Setup and assembly for delivery. The battery is charged, the column is securely shielded from negligent transit, and everything is packaged flawlessly from the factory. The plastic is well processed, pleasant to the touch, there is no offensive smell, like cheap trash, a comfortable and rubberized perforated handle, nothing sticks out anywhere, the plastic is painted, and the fabric is done perfectly, the adjustment to the gaps is at the level, flaws, streaks did not see. I would even go so far as to call the assembly excellent. The camouflage live is a darker shade than it appears in the photo and it looks amazing. Even though there is a separate power cord made for Western outlets, the box is standard. Now that the speaker is IPX7 protected, it can be briefly submerged in water up to one meter deep without suffering any harm. While still alive, I bathed the column while standing in the pouring rain on the sidewalk. 3) Controls and autonomy. The charge was still only approximately 40% after the speaker played all day at a loudness of roughly 70%. A Party Boost button has been added, the indicator at the bottom of the speaker has changed to a solid strip, and the rear plug has changed in shape and lost the buttons for the home and street modes. These are the only modifications to the speaker control controls. It is simple to operate, and switching modes is no longer necessary because the bass is always the same. Party Boost connects fast and operates without issue (tested on Flip 5).
Cons
  • It is easy to state that the software is bad than it is that the horrible application does not display the device in Party Boost correctly; all that is present is a speaker icon. Undoubtedly, the cost is considerable for a novelty, but there is also a floating rate (which is, as usual, shorter). As indicated in the sound from the battery and from the network, I did not notice a difference in volume when the power supply was attached. This can be fixed by the firmware, but not yet. A single connector is used to charge devices. No aptX assistance.
