Review on Sennheiser MKH416-P48U3: Professional Super-Cardioid Shotgun Tube Condenser Microphone by Anthony Savage

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's just worth it! - Microphones and accessories

as an Arabic speaker who records in his home studio, I really found this microphone to be the best among all the other alternatives, why? It's just that in an average home studio the level of isolation/acoustic treatment isn't great and this mic can give you good results even if you don't have a well processed environment compared to the SM7b or other dynamic mics this mic is a Condenser mic with low noise floor (if it has one) not gain hungry so no need to buy extra tools to increase the gain of your mic and as for quality all I can say is I've worked on a lot of projects and it pays for itself multiplies its costs: - Supercardioid: low noise/echo even in non-acoustically processed environments. - Indoor/outdoor recording function - bright, unlike most known dynamic microphones - for video recording, you can move the microphone outside the frame Microphone in the frame, it will not completely cover your face like some other microphones. It comes with a protective screen and a hard carrying case that protects the microphone well. On the negative side, since the mic is directional (supercardioid) if you change your face/voice direction it can be out of range, especially if you're not near the mic. 5 out of 5 after more than 1 year of use.
